Stanley #17 block plane, type 18

Description

Stanley 17 block plane in above-average condition. As always, the japanning on the heel of the lever cap is worn, because that’s where the user’s hand rests. Japanning in bed is near 100%.  There’s plenty of life left in the cutter.  The throat plate was a little sticky, mostly from sawdust that gets trapped there, but I loosened it up with a couple of strokes from a machinist’s scraper; it may need a couple more, but I didn’t want to overdo it.  Cutter has the “Sweetheart” logo.
