Thamesville Co. 5/8″ tanged gouge, sharpened outcannel, #8 sweep

Description

I wasn’t able to find the Thamesville Company in any of the references I have, but it’s possible they were related to the Thames River works of Norwich, CT.  The gouge is in above-average condition; it’s firmly anchored in the handle, and there are two small patches of storage rust on the back.  There’s about 3-1/2″ left to the shoulder, enough for years of use.
