Stanley #3, Type 18

Description

This plane is in average condition.  There’s quite a bit of wear to the paint on the handles (which, by the way, makes me think it’s a very early Type 18 — painted handles are characteristic of type 17). Japanning in the bed is pretty much all there, and there’s a good deal of life left in the cutter.  There’s a light layer of storage rust on the sides and a small, more severe patch of rust on the left side.   Will make a good worker.
