Brace made by John Fray, 10″ sweep

Description

This brace is in good condition.  The pad rotates smoothly, and has the usual number of toolbox dings and ring scratches.  The handle also rotates smoothly.   The ratchet mechanism is a little unusual — Fray patented it in 1884 — but it works well.  The chuck springs are strong.  There’s a very, very light layer of storage rust that should clean easily.  Will make a good worker.
