Unmarked carpenter’s hatchet with 3-1/2″ blade, notch for pulling nails.

Description

Carpenter’s hatchet is unmarked, but obviously commercially made.  The 3-1/2″ blade has been well kept and is fairly sharp.  There’s some pitting on one side that might well be forging marks.  Striking face has a few microchips on the upper edge, nothing too bad though.   The handle is obviously both original and commercially made, but the owner carved a series of grooves in it to guarantee that it would never, ever slip out of his hand.
