Stanley #5 jack plane, Type 16

Description

This plane is in average condition. As often happens, the owner sliced off part of the horn on the tote, probably to make the lateral adjustment lever easier to move.   The rosewood knob and tote are otherwise OK, with the usual wear on the tote and the usual ring scratches and toolbox dings on both the knob and tote.  Japanning in the bed is about 80% there,  with most of the problem at the heel.  There’s a light coat of storage rust on the lever cap, iron, and sides; should clean pretty easily with some WD-40 and a scrubbie.  Will make a good worker.
