Stanley #3 smoothing plane, Type 15 , with Sargent iron

Stanley #3 smoother; somebody has substituted a Sargent iron for the original cutter; it appears to fit well.  The lever cap looks like  a substitution from a Type 13, but it’s certainly right for the plane.  Japanning in the bed 90% or better; lacquer on the hardwood knob and tote is flaking as it so often does.
