Shelton #3-sized smoothing plane

Description

There’s only one type study for Shelton planes, and it refers to this plane as “#3-sized” because the author was unable to find a catalog or other information about it (I just had similar luck).   On this one, the tote is free of cracks or breaks; both knob and tote have the usual wear to the finish (the result of use).  Japanning in the bed and on the lever cap is near 100%.  All the mechanisms appear to function well.  There’s lots of the cutter left to fulfill your Shelton-planing fantasies.
