Description
This straight-pein hammer has the original handle (with a few paint drips, as you can see). The most interesting thing is the faint manufacturer’s mark: “Peck, Stow / East Berlin Connecticut”. The Wilcox name is missing. At a guess, that would date this hammer to the early 1870s, when the Peck, Stow and Wilcox merger was new. A century and a half is not a bad lifespan for a hammer.
