Description
I’ve not seen one of these before. Patented by one Isaac Rommer of Newark, NJ in 1910, this uses a cam-type action to put pressure on the workpiece. The adjustable depth is done by means of a toothed rib. The total capacity is around 3 or 3-1/2 inches.
These look like they’d be most useful to luthiers.
