Just like your toenails, horse’s hooves need regular trimming and care, especially before shoeing.   That’s what this specialized knife is meant for — although I’ve also seen them used as carving knives for spoons and other relatively tight inside curves.   The patent papers for this one stressed its adjustability — the knife portion is adjustable with respect to the handle, which allows it to fit different sized hands.
