Geo. Burnham, Jr. Amherst, Mass. Grecian Ogee with Quirk Bead 1-1/4″, boxed

Description

Made between 1844 and 1853, and in good working condition nearly 170 years later.   The quirk is not as pronounced as some, possibly from wear to the boxing but more likely by design. Cutter is well-maintained and in excellent condition.  Wedge has some mushrooming and a slight split that seems to have been carefully repaired.  A few powder-post beetle holes from long ago.   A good solid plane.
