In overall above-average condition.  Looks like somebody took a wire brush to it at some point, which is odd, because there are no signs of rust on it.  Handle is original, but not well-fitted; the good news is that it’s oversized so you can make it fit better yourself — it’s not necessary, though, because the handle is tight as it is.  Leather washer on the striking face has minimal mushrooming. You may want to regrind the edge — it’s a little off-square, but not enough to matter much.  4-1/2″ left to the shoulder, which is plenty.
