Discounts
Multiple-item orders over $500 receive a discount of 15%.
I’m also happy to negotiate discounts for orders from non-profit organizations — especially theaters. To qualify, you need to provide a copy of your 990, or a determination letter from the IRS (sorry to have be a stickler for paperwork). In the future, I may offer discounts to students at woodworking schools listed in Popular Woodworking’s directory of woodworking schools and maker spaces, so stay tuned.
No-haggle policy
If I run into you at a flea market, a tool auction, or any other place where we can talk about price with the tool right in front of us, I’m happy to haggle. But it makes little sense to haggle over something you can’t see — and it’s unfair to buyers who behave less aggressively. So — no haggling, sorry.
When (and how) will you get your stuff?
I try to ship within 48 hours of receiving an order. That’s not always possible — I’m a retiree with a second career as an electronic musician, and I travel. If it’s going to be longer, I’ll try to let you know. And if you’re in an extra-big hurry, just say so on the order form.
As to how, I generally prefer to ship via US Postal Service. Over the years, they’ve proven to be much better than their competition at delivering things without damage, and for reasons of geography here in the People’s Republic of Ithaca, New York, they’re much easier for me to use.
What about returns?
I have a no-questions-asked return policy — just ship the goods back to me at your expense, and we’ll be fine. I don’t mind delays of up to a week after you get the stuff. Lengthy delays cause a raised eyebrow, and serial order-and-return tire-kickers get banned.
Special requests
If there’s something special you’re looking for, see the wants form.
What’s with these “generic” items?
I have a page for that.
