Description
This adjustable wrench was patented by A.P. Joy of Newmarket, NH on 1 February 1898. It has a somewhat novel adjustment mechanism. They are not especially common.
This thing is a brute – 14″ long and heavy as hell. Looks like it’d take a square nut up to about 3 or 4 inches in size, so was probably meant for wagons and the like. I’ve not seen an example this big online or elsewhere.
This one needs a good de-rusting, but is otherwise in good shape.
