Description
The so-called “junior jack” plane was made for use in school “manual training” classes. The rosewood knob and tote on this one are without breaks; the finish is flaking, as often happens. Someone painted the lever cap red on this one, probably to identify it as school property, and helpfully drilled a hang hole in the toe, which like most hang holes is off-center, ensuring that the plane will never hang plumb. The right side has extensive micro-pitting, probably from being left in water at some point; this will not affect use in the slightest. A good tool for younger, beginning woodworkers, or those with very small hands.
