Description
This thing pretty much defines “specialty tool”. It’s used to cut rabbets on an outside (convex) curve. I suspect that it was mostly used in the carriagemaking trade, where curved doors and panels were pretty common.
This particular one has the graphically appealing “v-logo” on the cutter. The japan finish on the handles is badly worn from use, about 50% present. The cutter’s got a good lifespan left in it, particularly considering how infrequently you’re going to need this tool ;).
